There are other boulder fields to climb in the west but Die Trying combines a killer grade with the big rocks. The combination is reminiscent of some of the most difficult trails in Johnson Valley but the scenery has a lot more green!




The rocks on Die Trying are big. Those are 38" Swampers on the Bronco and he is taking the "easy" line!

The rocks are non-stop and in most sections, the trail's width dictates the line you have to take. The dry dusty conditions make traction on the rocks an iffy proposition but it is worse when it rains.
