Spidertrax installed driver and passenger Lexan windows in the firewall for visibility. The rear floor of the body was removed to make room for a custom 12-gallon aluminum fuel cell and an aluminum toolbox. Each of the 6061 aluminum dash panels is removable, with each panel having its own electrical connector for easy service. The Autometer Ultralight gauges include a tach, oil temp, water temp, voltmeter and clock. As always, the Autometer gauges are high quality and are extremely easy to read at a glance, even when in extreme conditions. Controls for the Warn M6000 winch are also dashboard mounted. The Warn M6000 is the sleeper deal of the year. It's got a 48.5 fpm line speed under no load and still pulls at a whopping 10 fpm at full load. That's fast! The 6000-pound winch has more than enough power to pull the Samurai up anything. There are four exterior rock lights, interior floor lighting, Hella driving lights and LED taillights to illuminate the night.

The entire undercarriage of the Arachnid was powder coated while the body was painted bright silver. To protect the body, Spidertrax angled rocker panels protect Arachnid's sides (thorax?).

We had the opportunity to go on the trail with the Spidertrax crew, Enelio and Arachnid. Wow. The little Samurai worked so well that those with other vehicles just shook their heads in awe. Enelio was able to crawl obstacles that even 38.5-equipped Jeeps were hanging up on and the sidehills - well, let's just say that we've never seen a 4x4 tackle and make sidehills as steep as the Arachnid did. Everyone was favorably impressed with the phenomenal quality of Spidertrax products and work. What's REALLY impressive is that you can order your very own Arachnid, because Spidertrax has moved to a large new shop in Colorado to be closer to the rock crawling action and to build turnkey 4x4's for you. Their fine products are still available to those who like to build their own, too.

This is one spider that you won't want to exterminate. Unless you're up against it in a competition, that is.

1.. Racing seats from Jeg's with Spidertrax off-the-shelf mounts keep occupants held comfortably in place.

2.. A custom 12-gallon aluminum fuel cell and aluminum tool box was fabricated to fit between the cage. A Power Tank makes quick work of airing tires up at the end of the day, or running impact tools if things go wrong in the backcountry.
