The Vitara worked well. The highway ride quality was the same as stock, and off highway performance was enhanced tremendously by the Calmini suspension. The 2.0-liter twin cam mill performed very well in stock form, especially to those of us accustomed to the old Samurai 1300cc engine. Especially impressive on the Vitara was the Calmini-massaged transfer case with the 4.24:1 low range and the superb bumpers and skid plates to keep rocks at bay. The day we took the Suzuki for a ride, the weather turned nasty later on and it was nice to be driving in the comfortable Vitara cab. Suzuki has done their ergonomic homework and all controls fell readily to hand.

Check out the photos for more on the Calmini Vitara. We can attest that if you already own one of these vehicles, or are looking for an economical 4x4 that will also perform in the backcountry, you won't go wrong by contacting Calmini and outfitting your Suzuki with their complete range of products. We see a lot of aftermarket equipment. Calmini's Vitara/Grand Vitara products are really some of the best around! No, Calmini hasn't paid us to do this article. If it sounds like an advertisement, it's because we really are enthused by the quality, toughness and fit of these products and the way they make the Vitara work!
