material in the carcass, you'd expect the ride to be harsh. Surprisingly, it's not! Interco says they designed the TrXus for general utility service, with a tighter tread pattern for those who don't require maximum off-highway traction. One look at the great looking, siped treads blocks tell you that this tire will still be a serious contender in the backcountry. What surprised us was that the tire was almost silent on the road! We even put the truck in neutral, rolled the window down,

turned off the ignition and coasted downhill to see if there was any tire noise. The only thing we heard was the air whistling by. Our 285x75R16LT TrXus measured a bit under 33" in diameter off the truck, which indicates that it may run just a bit smaller than some other 285's.

The TrXus' surprising on-highway performance was an added plus, as we expected them to work off-highway before we even took them there. On our heavy Dodge, the sidewalls bowed well when we let some air out, but don't expect them to deflect much if you plan on running them on a lighter 4x4. This is a strong, beefy tire! As usual, we had no mud, but sand and rock performance was great, as was snow performance. We'll give you a more detailed report as we get some more miles on the tires.

The MT by Alcoa Challenger wheels and Interco TrXus tires are a great addition to our project Dodge. They make the truck look even better than it did originally and, of course, it works much better with the mud terrain TrXus tires replacing the street treads the truck came with. It feels good, on highway or off, to have the piece of mind you get knowing that you're on some of the strongest wheels available today and a load range E tire that's not only strong and quiet, but aggressive enough to get the job done no matter what the road conditions!
