After a few grunts and a "please hurry honey", all the bolts were started. I suppose if I hadn't had a helper, I could've used a jack to hold the plate in place while starting the bolts. You might want to trim the extra thread from the front bolts (after everything's tightened down) with a grinder to provide more clearance for aftermarket differential travel.

With that done, I went back and finished tightening up all the bolts with my air ratchet. I bolted the skid plate right over the top of the OEM skid plate. I can best describe it as a strong, tight fit. The installation took all of about ten minutes to complete. Ground clearance loss is negligible at possibly an eighth of an inch. Now my fuel tank is protected by heavy-duty 3/16-plate steel. The fit and finish of the Tomken product is excellent. I love it when bolt holes actually line up like they are supposed to. The Tomken Fuel Tank Skid Plate only adds to the distinct toughness of the Jeep.
