As usual, Marlin Crawler has an answer. Marlin got together with an axle shop in the eastern U.S. and put together a birfield that's approximately 150% stronger than stock. Called the "Marfield," this joint is not indestructible, just a lot stronger. In other words, just what Toyota owners need on the trail. During the R&D stage, some Marfields broke in the backcountry but, by the time you read this, the new and improved Marfields should be ready for shipping. |

| 1. Jay started the birfield/Marfield swap by removing the hub. | 2. Use a hammer to loosen the hub assembly. Make sure you retain the cone washers, as you'll use them again. | 3.Remove the snap ring on the outer end of the axle. Snap ring pliers makes this a lot easier to do than using two screwdrivers. |
