Any four-wheeler who's owned or been on the trail with Toyota Land Cruisers or Pickups knows what birfield joints are. The weak front axle joints seem to fail almost every time you need them the most, then make for a filthy job when replacing them. Up to now, there hasn't been much Toyota owners could do except carry spare axles, grit their teeth and wonder when they'd lose the next birfield.

Here's a Marfield on the left and stock birfield on the right. The Marfield is made from a much stronger alloy.
